Eat Healthy Snacks

  • Take two thin apple slices and put peanut butter between for and apple peanut butter sandwich
  • Put low-fat cream cheese on celery and place raisins on top for "ants on a log"
  • Carrot sticks or broccoli dipped in Ranch dressing
  • Add 1/4 cup of granola to 1/2 cup of low-fat yogurt
  • Pita chips dipped in hummus
  • Whole grain crackers with a slice of cheese on them.
  • Mix 1/4 cup each of strawberries, blueberries and raspberries for a healthy fruit salad.

  • Drink water and low-fat milk or skim milk
  • Limit juice to only 4-6 ounces a day and choose 100% fruit juice
  • Limit sodas and sugar-sweetened beverages. They contain a lot of sugar and are associated with childhood and adolescent obesity
